Care and the love of knitting and crocheting have been combined into a prayerful ministry that reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace. Many blessings are knit and/or crocheted into every shawl. Those who knit and crochet begin each shawl with prayers for the recipient. Intentions are continued throughout the creation of the shawl.

Upon completion, each shawl is given a special blessing for both the giver and the receiver so that they can feel the unconditional embrace of a sheltering, loving God.

The shawl or lap robe represents an outreach from the St. Ann’s Community to those homebound, those suffering an illness, those in community residences or in nursing homes, and their caregivers.

Meetings take place in the Parish Center on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 1:00 PM.
