First Communion and Confirmation are two-year programs. Children must be parishioners of St. Ann’s and their families should be registered at the church. If you are not yet registered, please call the Parish Office (508) 823-9833. Children are required to attend BOTH years to receive the sacrament in the spring of year 2. Children attending parochial schools in grades 1-8 and planning on receiving First Communion at St Ann’s are only required to attend the second year of Faith Formation classes (Grade 2). We would encourage them to attend Grade 1 but as they participate in daily religion classes at their parochial school, the first year of faith formation is not mandated.

Students preparing for Confirmation at St. Ann’s and attending parochial schools ARE required by Diocesan statutes to attend both years of the Faith Formation Confirmation prep program in their home parishes to be eligible to receive the sacrament in the spring of the second year.

The schedule for the Grades 1-7 is below. Students will attend either week A or week B and attend either Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday for the entire year. Selection of day is completed during registration.

Week A – Grades 1- 7 will meet every other Sunday (9:15am to 10:45am) or Monday (5:15am to 6:45pm)
Week B – Grades 1-7 will meet every other Sunday (9:15am to 10:45am) or Tuesday (5:15am to 6:45 pm)

The schedule for Confirmation involves grades 8 and 9 meeting together this year as we transition toward the sacrament eventually being received in 9th grade.

Week A – Grades 8 and 9 will meet every other Sunday from 12 noon to 1:30pm.
Week B – Grade 10 will meet every other Sunday from 12 noon to 1:30pm.
We plan to start classes in mid-September. The calendar will be published on the website by the middle of August.
Homeschooling is an option for grades 1, 3-7 only. It is not available for the sacramental programs.
